Color in Nature Exhibit
Color in Nature is an exhibition at the Children Museum of Manhattan focused on the exploration of colors through nature in the abstract form. The concept of this exhibition is to unify nine subjects of color found with in nature. The goal behind this exhibition is to design a space that facilitates the creativity and curiosity of a child’s mind. In each section, there are various interactive portions that stimulates the children’s heighten senses of sight, touch and hearing. These interactive portions utilize digital and physical components to the encourage full engagement.

Entrance of Color in Nature

Seeing Color: This section explains how we humans and animals perceive color.

Colors in Earth: This section is not only educational but also active. Kids can climb up into the Stalactite; along their journey to the top the crystals will have an ambient glow of different mineral’s colors. The responsive touch on the crystal

Glo Space: This section is a space for parents and children under one years old to relax and play.

Camo Room: This area offers children a creative space for them to roam. There are tall green pool noodles that are upright to demonstrate what disruptive coloration is, a type of camouflage.

Climate Zone: In this space, visitors explores the four seasons through projection mapping and fake snow and leaves. As you walk long the wall, the seasons are changing and the sun sets and rises.
